Any type of Foreigner visit to James Clemens High School Band, Madison, Alabama around Chattanooga concert time frame?  Raising monies to get 150 piece marching band to London's New Year's Day Parade 2017.

A small benefit concert appearance at school auditorium would be greatly appreciated.  Our assistant band director also conducts the school choir, so we have built-in choir support.

I enjoyed watching this morning's "Today" show interviews with Mick Jones / Kelly Hansen and Foreigner performance.  I graduated high school in 1981, so, long time fan and was compelled to draft this request for support/assistance after listening to Kelly Hansen's comments about supporting school music programs around the country and knowing Mick Jones' ties to England.

I hope this support extends to promoting successful programs too!

We have a great school system in City of Madison, wonderful band directors (Keith Anderson/Stuart Tankesley) and strong parent/booster support for our young musicians.

The James Clemens High School Wind Ensemble just recently were invited and performed in January 2016 at the Alabama Music Educators Association Convention in Montgomery.  This is a tremendous accomplishment after just 4 years of the school being open.

Prior to this, James Clemens High School was honored to host former Lord Mayor of Westminster, Catherine Longworth and director of the 2017 London New Year's Day Parade, Mr. Bone, at our school in Madison, Alabama to receive the formal invitation to participate in the New Year's Day parade with our marching band!  This is huge...twice as big as Macy's Thanksgiving Parade! ...and, so is the cost...approximately $3300 per student for a 150 piece band is close to 1/2 million dollars!  We are feverishly working fundraising events for the kids including a "Lincoln Drive" day combined with Vintage British Car Show (MG, Triumph, Jaguar, Morgan) in April.  If you have a good relationship with Matthew McConaughey, please contact his publicist...the ladies would enjoy visiting with him while they wait to test drive a Lincoln....while the guys "oooh and aaah" looking at classic British Sportscars.

I see that your concert dates place the band as close as Chattanooga, TN March 1 as Foreigner travels North from Jacksonville, Fl February 20th.  The City of Madison is 112 miles away on the Western fringe of Huntsville, Alabama (Rocket City).

I can imagine these concert dates are carved in stone months, if not a year in advance, so I'd be surprised if we could schedule Foreigner at the Von Braun Civic Center, Huntsville early next month...which would be awesome...but we still have time this year!  The band doesn't fly out until late December 2016!

Thanks for your consideration.  - David Shelly (US Army, Retired), Proud band parent/booster/instrument truck driver

hi jen, if u go to the tour page u will notice an acoustic guitar under each venue's city name; beginning with 2/11...when u no longer see an acoustic guitar, i believe that is the clue-?!  good luck w/both acoustic & amped gigs!  foreigner is fantastic at both~   :)   8)

I'm taking my 18 year old son to your show . He has Down syndrome and you are his favorite band. He loves Kelly . He would love to meet you and maybe take a picture with you if at all possible. I tried to get meet and greet tickets for him but I could not afford it. It would make him so happy if he could meet you. Thanks

Gina,

Appreciate the thoughts.   Regularly viewers to this page would know Jim by his posting name jimmyc.    Jim was a  super Foreigner fan and an even better person.

Jim stole a ride on a passing star
Not knowing where he was going
 How near or how far
Through years of light, lands of future and past
 Until the heavenly gates
 Were sighted at last.

Thanks
Joe
