We were able to do a search and turned up this unlikely film, captured from the shoe phone/camera of Stephanie Zacruter.

Tom honey, that video of you on sax is awesome!!!  I just want to thank you for posting it, and as ALWAYS, you are on the feckin money with your playing.  Everytime I've seen you has been an absolute thrill!!  Man, I get very hostile toward negative people, it's hard to be cool!!!  But, in this circumstance, there is no need, some people just don't get it.  They don't get GOOD ROCK AND ROLL, OR EXCELLENT PLAYERS.  How could they with all the bunk that's around........

Love U, and tell Dodger Sandie said HELLO!!!!
Peace to all.

Thom said, "I have always played Urgent on the tenor sax and to even imagine playing it on any other sax would be ludicrous. Tenor is the only sax that would even work for Urgent."

Thom,

Is this not you, playing a sample from Urgent, with an alto sax?

Thom, Mercifully I'm going to stop posting on this topic.  I'm really sorry about the direction the thread took.  Singling you out and all.  It's not your fault my expectations were too high.  Saxaphone is a favorite instrument of mine and so few rock songs incorporate it.  I'd take you up on your offer of a free ride to a concert but I'm afraid you would break my nose if you ever met me.  Email me at networkalias@gmail.com if you're serious about a non violent offer.

Cheers

Of course. Thanks for the kind word. No hard feelings. And no broken noses.. That's absurd!
I'll drop you a line and let's move on, as you say,  "Mercifully".
BTW, you're ABSOLUTELY RIGHT AGAIN, The sax on the German tv show Wetten Das, is an alto.
However, the audio was pre recorded on tenor. It was just easier/faster to grab the smaller alto for that super quick sax spot in the midst of the video medley.

Sorry for interfering but:
Thank you, T.G., for enlightening of that alto on "Wetten dass". Call me stupid but I was wondering how you could do that sound with the alto (and I really did not like the imagination of alto sax on "Urgent").
Keep the tenor rocking!
Best. lizzzardgirl.

Thom,
That certainly looked like an alto sax on the youtube medley!  When I saw you in Oct. '08 @ the Rosebud in Illinois --you definitely had a tenor sax.  No matter, you rock all the way!!!  Love, love , love the current intro to Urgent and your presentation. Thank you so much!!  Got some great shots of you and Mick playing together.  Thanks for an amazing evening -- please come back!!  We were delighted that you guys came back to the Firefly for dinner!!  Foreigner has been the absolute favorite performance of all Rosebud shows!!
Great job on the flute, too, on Soundstage -- my instrument, as well!!  Sax section sat right behind me!  Fun and quirky bunch!!
Thanks again for the music, performances and connection with the fans!!!
Jan
