Who played in Mick's absence 9/13
« on: September 14, 2011, 12:36:11 pm »
Very curious who was the guitarist in place of Mick for the 9/13 show in Nashville.  It did not appear to be Joel from Night Ranger.

Joel tweeted he rocked out with Night Ranger in Nashville. Didn't mention working with Foreigner.
Today's tweet mentions he will be playing with NR, Journey and Foreigner.
The new guy looks familiar....
Either way, Joel is growing on me, and he did a great job, but there is only one Mick.

I was at the Nashville show last night, too, and was bummed that Mick was absent.  The fill-in guy with the crazy hair actually did a very respectable job though.  I'm curious like the other posters as to what his name is if anyone knows.  Thanks!

We have been discussing this in this other thread, and right now, no one seems to know:

Yup.  I'm dying to know too.

The Memphis concert was phenomenal from all the bands.  But I thought the Foreigner guitarist was amazing who subbed in for Mick Jones.

Who is he?!!!

Thanks for the info.  I saw him in Nashville, and he was amazing!  I've also been wondering who played that night.

It's not the Bruce Watson from Big Country.

Here's a video that features Bruce Watson playing steel guitar (and with Mark Schulman playing drums):

From Melodicrock.com:

"FOREIGNER'S MICK JONES TO RETURN TO TOUR SOON:
Foreigner have been touring across America, in the package deal with Night Ranger and Journey. But sadly, guitarist Mick Jones has missed a number of dates through illness. While the exact nature of his illness has not been disclosed, I did get an update from management today: "Thank you for enquiring about Mick's health. He is recovering well and we expect him to be back with us soon."
That's great news for fans and the band - I will keep in touch with the band to confirm Mick's return."

A supposed "insider" there says he is due back for the Hollywood Bowl show.....
