Jason's leaving Foreigner!
« on: August 22, 2008, 05:05:20 pm »
At last we can talk about it!!   He's leaving to work with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones...and to see a bit more of his family. Jason announced it himself on a Detroit radio station this morning.
I've known of this for a while but didn't want to say anything until an announcement was made.

oh thank god!!! (that the announcement was finally made not that Jason is leaving!)

just too big of something for me to be carrying around for a week!  I hope everyone understands why I didn't break the news here.  Just felt it was up to Jason and the band.  You would think though that maybe they could have announced it here first rather than announcing on the radio....

Jason I will miss your silly grin!!!  thanks for always being supercool with me!

Gina (who knows Jason will miss her too that's why his last shows are in NJ )

I've been bustin' a gut too Gina so glad it's now out there. Actually, I am surprised that nobody has picked up on it sooner as the AARP sponsored tour has Jason erased out of the photos in September (the Billboard cover shot). This has been like this for a while. If you check out the links to the venue's websites that are listed on this site you will see what I mean.

That's to bad he goes.

He's the best drummer that had to Foreigner.

I'm happy for Jason but this sucks on so many levels for me as a day-one diehard Foreigner fan.

Any word on his replacement....and please don't tell me it's Brian Tichy

It would be cool if they brought Mark Schulman back again - I love his drumming.

Mel,

What's up?  My first choice would definitely be Mark as their styles are similar.

In December I saw Foreigner in Fort Myers, Florida. Dennis Elliot must live in the area as he came on stage to substitute for Jason on drums when Foreigner played Hot Blooded.
