Fantasy Set List
« on: August 26, 2008, 01:40:27 pm »
This question is for us diehard fans who have been around since the beginning. Those of us who have been to all the shows in their area have heard the same set list many times. What would be your Foreigner Fantasy Set List if you could pick the songs? I will post mine in a few days.

I'd like to add "Prisoner of Love" "A Love in Vain" and "Take me to your Leader". Can we hope that they one day play a gig "only for die-hards" with ONLY "unknown" songs???

A concert for only diehard fans with these songs would be my dying wish. Maybe they could do what bands like Wilco and Cheap Trick have done and play a few straight nights and play every song they ever recorded.

I know the Black Crowes play a very varied setlist. They never repeat a setlist the next night and their diehard fans love them for it.

I heard this lineup play Headknocker twice in '05 and I know they played Soul Doctor several times before I first saw them.

I never understood not branching out a little bit and playing something different occasionally. It's not like they don't have a vast catalog of grea/good tunes to chose from. I'm not a greatest hits kind of guy anyway so hearing the more obscure stuff is always welcome...unless it's from Mister Moonlight:biggrin:

I think Mr. Moonlight has alot of great songs. They are not the kind of songs that play on top 40 radio stations. You should give it another listen.

Sorry, I've listened to MM umpteen times and it's simply not Foreigner to me. I'm an old-school fan as the debut is my favorite release. I loved Ian's influence on the first three albums.

There are several songs on MM that I like(Real World is one of them) but overall it's just too soft and polished for my taste. It reminds me of Adult Contemporary Pop drivel...stuff you'd hear on a soft rock station.

IMO,the songs on MM are lacking an edge...an attitude.

well hopefully once the new drummer is announced (Hello, hint hint!!!) the band will be able to start branching out from the normal set list.  With the keyboard changes and Jason being out with Zep new people had to step in and learn the songs.  For a stretch there the band was throwing in new songs (headknocker, Break it Up)
and at least add back in That Was Yesterday (BIG FREAKIN HINT HINT )
Gina

I would love to hear Kelly sing Down on Love:wub:

That'd be GREAT ... I hope they announce it early enough for me to 1) save some money  2) convince some of my European Foreigner friends to join me and 3) book a flight to the U.S. ( cause I doubt that they would do such an event in Germany  )
