They just closed the "Fernsehgarten" (=TV-garden). They performed IN PIECES and as an encore COLD AS ICE.

Somehow I feel like I have to appologize for all the crap they had to endure before they finally came on (shitty german Schlagermusik and loads of other strange stuff...).

But I think they know, that's not like it all the time in Germany 8)

And I think, Mick might be in a state of shock, when he hears, that they actually have closed down a long and very busy piece of German Autobahn, only to have people sit there and have breakfast, lunch and/or dinner - depending on what the visitors bring along...

I may be a bit cynical and I know live tv is a difficult performance, but that had to be prerecorded and lipsynced. Clues to my conclusion. Michael's keyboard set-up was minimal. Jason's drum kit is not the one he uses at concerts, the backup singers had no microphones, and the transition between songs was too smooth. I'm not saying that I didn't like it, but I always feel cheated by these type of shows.

Oh yes. Both shows were playback performances. TV producers hardly take the risk of real live performances theese days. Only very few shows around the world specialize in live performances and then they always emphasis on the fact that it is really live. Sad but true.

Hi, here's a link to "Cold as Ice" performed at the "Fernsehgarten":

http://www.zdf.de/ZDFmediathek/beitrag/video/1092820/Foreigner-Cold-As-Ice?bc=sts;sta#/beitrag/video/1092820/Foreigner-Cold-As-Ice

The weather was wonderful but the bigger part of the audience were "German Schlager"-diehards   ::) ::) ::)

If you can't see the video on first try scroll along on the bottom-line until you find "Foreigner In Pieces" - click on it and the vid starts. Good luck !

Rika, thanks for the links. Were you at any of these shows? I was looking for members of the Germany Gang in the audience.

Hi David,

I don't think that anyone of the Germany Gang was at the TV events. Tics normally are sold out months before and as the "Verstehen Sie Spass?"-performance of Foreigner was cancelled first noone of us tried to get tics. Maybe we'll be at a TV-show some time - of course with a BIG transparent...   ;D
I like the "Fernsehgarten"-video because they played two WHOLE songs and not the medley ( nothing for real fans).

Gina: I hope you were able to sleep ...  ;) ;) ;) Blue pants and a white sleeveless shirt  -  not really the best sleeping drug for a girl like you  ;)

Great that you posted the links! Could see the 'Spass' show but not the 'Fernsehgarten'. A friend taped it for me and I wasn't sure if I could wait 'til I see her, I was so curious. And now I'm really glad that they had the chance to perform 2 songs and not just a medley. Brilliant!
BTW - I would never ever go these German TV-shows! If you could see all the other so-called musicians who are on you would vomit!
I prefer to wait for the other gigs! Not long anymore :-)

Thanks for the links.  Unfortunately I couldn't see the Fernsehgarten show.  Could not access "In Pieces" on there.  I'm sure it was good!

Kellycat In Pieces was the best part!
when that horrible blonde girl starts singing look at the bottom of the video
you have to scroll thru all the clips listed and you will eventually see the In Pieces link!
the cameraman needs a raise for all the wonderful closeups of Kelly!

I was not able to sleep for a couple of hours lolol!
they say not to watch anything stimulating before bedtime, oh well!!

I've seen both shows on TV but thanks so much for posting the links so that everybody can see the videos!
Rika, I fully agree to you I also prefer the "Fernsehgarten" video as they had time to perform two songs in full lenght instead of just a medley.

Gina,  Thanks, I finally saw it -  I see what you mean, the cameraman should get a raise!  And Kelly wearing the BP's  too cute!  I'm off to my sons place for supper and I've watched that video about 4 times already!
I'll be thinking about it all evening OMG! lol
