Mick Jones is First on Portsmouth Guildhall Wall of Fame
Foreigner’s main man and Portsmouth native Mick Jones has become the first person to be inducted into Portsmouth Guildhall’s Wall of Fame.
In a ceremony at the Guildhall, Andy Grays, chairman of Portsmouth Cultural Trust, presented Mick with a copy of the framed picture that is now hanging on the wall. Foreigner had huge hits in the 1980s, including I Want to Know What Love Is, Waiting for a Girl Like You and Cold as Ice.
Mick, who was joined by several family members at the ceremony, said: ‘It’s very special to get this. As we were travelling here through the streets, I was just thinking about how this is where I developed my wanderlust.’
His band played the venue last night.
