Foreigner Offers High School Students Free Tickets to Chastain Park Show!

ATLANTA – As part of Foreigner's ongoing charity partnership with the Grammy Foundation, the legendary band will host the Floyd County Honor Chorus, consisting of choir members from Pepperell, Coosa, Armuchee and Model high schools, who will sing with the band on a performance of their timeless #1 hit "I Want to Know What Love Is," at Chastain Park Amphitheatre in Atlanta on August 31, 2012.

Foreigner is offering complimentary tickets to all Georgia high school students with photo ID and an accompanying ticket-buying adult. These free tickets will be available only on the night of the show (Friday 8/31) at the venue box office after 6pm.

Foreigner has partnered with the Grammy Foundation to support its mission of restoring instrumental music education in America's public schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child's complete education.

"As far as I'm concerned, music is not only the most powerful form of communication between the peoples of the world, it provides a gateway that opens up a fantastic new dimension of feeling and creative and anything we can do to provide our young ones with the tools to express themselves through music, is our goal in this partnership," Foreigner guitarist and founding member Mick Jones said.

As part of its charity initiative, Foreigner is making a donation to the Floyd County Honor Chorus to use towards its music program.

A Foreigner greatest hits live CD will be made available for purchase at the concert. Members of the choir will be selling the CD to concertgoers both before and after the performance.  For $20.00, the buyer can purchase this live set that features all of the band’s classic hits and a raffle ticket that will enable them to enter a drawing to win an autographed Foreigner guitar. The guitar will be raffled off at the end of the performance. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the CDs will be donated to the Grammy Foundation program.

Foreigner has also been involved with other charities including the Red Cross, the Shriner's Children's Hospitals and the VH-1 Save the Music charity, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for these worthy causes.
