Special Acoustic Concert at the Flying Saucer to Benefit SCC-Texas!

Kelly Hansen announced Tuesday at Texas Motor Speedway's annual Media Day that the band will perform a special acoustic concert Monday, April, 9, to benefit Speedway Children's Charities-Texas and officially kick off the Samsung Mobile 500 NASCAR race week.

The Foreigner Acoustique - Classics Unplugged private benefit concert, featuring Hansen and Foreigner veterans Tom Gimbel and Jeff Pilson, will be held at the new Flying Saucer venue - formerly 8.0's - in Fort Worth's Sundance Square beginning at 7 p.m. CT. The trio will perform the unique acoustic versions of several of Foreigner's greatest hits at the outdoor venue including "I Want To Know What Love Is," "Double Vision," "Hot Blooded," "Waiting For A Girl Like You," and "Feels Like The First Time," among others.

"We are so happy to again be working with our friends at Texas Motor Speedway and Speedway Children's Charities as part of another NASCAR race week," Hansen said. "Our Acoustique concept has been an awesome chance for us to showcase this band's great songs in a new way, and it will be fun to play to such an intimate crowd and for such a worthy cause. Plus, hey, we LOVE Texas!"

During a break in the set, a limited live auction will be held that will include a handful of unique items, including a live serenade by Hansen with a Foreigner hit song to the winning bidder on stage and a framed autographed platinum Foreigner single.

General admission tickets are available for $60 and special VIP tickets are $150, with all proceeds benefitting Speedway Children's Charities-Texas.

The limited-availability VIP ticket includes a pre-concert reception (food & open bar) at the neighboring Mercury Chop House and meet-and-greet with the Foreigner band members, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The VIPs also receive a reserved area for the concert, autographed Foreigner "Acoustique" CD and a Foreigner/SCC t-shirt. General admission tickets also include a Foreigner "Acoustique" CD. All tickets also will be eligible to win a free autographed Foreigner guitar that evening.
