FOREIGNER SWEEPS BILLBOARD’S FIRST-EVER “GREATEST OF ALL TIME” RANKINGS CELEBRATING THE MOST SUCCESSFUL ARTISTS, SONGS AND ACTS
Billboard have announced the first-ever “Billboard Greatest of All Time Rankings" for its legendary Hot 100 and Billboard 200 song, album and artist charts. Foreigner rocked every single list, proving the staying power of one of rock’s most prolific bands. In some categories, Foreigner outshined contemporary major artists including Taylor Swift, Kid Rock, Kate Perry and Kanye West.
Here are some highlights:
• In the all-time top Billboard 200 Albums chart, Foreigner’s 4 comes in at #46 ahead of The Beatles’ Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club, Pink Floyd’s The Wall U2’s Joshua Tree. Foreigner 4 spent more weeks at # 1 than albums by Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton or any other band in Atlantic Records 65 year history.
• In the all-time top Billboard 200 Artists chart, Foreigner comes in at #62 ahead of Simon & Garfunkel, Heart, The Who and many more.
• In the all-time top Billboard Hot 100 Songs chart, Foreigner hit “Waiting for A Girl Like You” comes in at #95. The song spent 14 weeks at #2, a record for the chart. It placed ahead of Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse,” and anything by The Eagles, Journey and most of their Classic Rock peers.
• In the all-time top Billboard Hot 100 Artists chart, Foreigner comes in at #56 ahead of such powerhouse artists as The Eagles, Queen, Fleetwood Mac and Bruce Springsteen.
